Bird Monitoring

Our SRR bird monitoring program has been running for over 10 years. This project includes seasonal surveys across core areas including: Greta, Boorhaman, Burgoigee, Wooragee , Killawarra which are surveyed seasonally. We welcome new volunteers to this program.

In partnership with Parks Victoria we annually survey the Warby-Ovens National Park. We hold a community bird survey day in November for these surveys.

Mammal Monitoring

Bushfire recovery Carboor- In partnership with Wettenhall Environment Trust and HVP we survey sites in the Carboor through to Abbeyard area comparing burnt and unburnt sites for mammal and bird diversity.

Bushfire recovery Shelley- In partnership with HVP we survey sites in the Shelley area comparing burnt and unburnt sites for mammal diversity.

Growling Grass Frogs

Swamps, Rivers and Ranges are the current project lead for the Growling Grass frog rewilding project at Winton Wetlands.

This year saw the reintroduction of the threatened species to the wetlands with more work to come. We would like to thank the volunteers and project funders and supporters Wettenhall Environment Trust, Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife, Goulburn Murray Catchment Management Authority, DEECA, Coliban Water, Wild research.

We would also like to recognise the power of work that has occurred on the project over the past 10 years, it is our privilege to now carry the torch.
