About Us
Who we Are
Our grassroots approach to environmental conservation focuses on collaboration, respect, and ethical practices through science-based methods. We pride ourselves on being nimble and adaptable while maintaining a regionally focused lens on landscape-scale biodiversity and NRM issues.
OUR PURPOSE
Our purpose is to integrate landscape thinking to promote local, science-based collaboration to drive on-ground actions in support of positive environmental and biodiversity outcomes in the broader North East Victorian region.
OUR VISION
Swamps, Rivers & Ranges Inc. strive to be a trusted and professional organisation that spearheads important environmental initiatives and serves as a preferred partner to implement science-based solutions for positive change in the environmental landscapes of North East Victoria.
Organisational History
Swamps, Rivers & Ranges Inc. was established in 2015, originally as a committee of representatives from NRM organisations working together to drive landscape-scale action in North-East Victoria. While the core purpose remains unchanged, the group’s structure has evolved, superseding the initial format, and becoming a purpose- driven organisation and key collaborator in regional initiatives.
This evolution enabled the organisation to grow and expand its capacity and potential for doing, not just planning. Today, Swamps, Rivers & Ranges Inc. maintains a highly skilled and knowledgeable committee who direct and support a Project Coordinator to deliver projects across a range of focus areas.
